Chloraid

General Information:

The UK Chlorine industry produces approximately half a million tonnes of Chlorine each year, and dispatches nearly 200,000 containers to the users of chlorine, both at home and abroad, each year. Containers vary in size from 1 kg cylinders to 25 tonne road tanks, the largest number of which are 33 and 70 Kg cylinders which are used by the water treatment industry.

ChlorAid is a mutual-aid scheme available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide expert help and guidance to all Chlorine Users and to the Public Emergency Services, for the mitigation of any Chlorine incident, either at a Chlorine user's premises*, or in the public domain.

Despite this huge number of containers in daily circulation, the Industry receives a relatively small number of calls each year for assistance, the majority of which, are resolved over the telephone.

The ChlorAid organisation will provide a professional and rapid response to any Chlorine incident regardless of the scale, anywhere in the UK and Ireland.

ChlorAid UK has successfully attended to calls for assistance from Continental Europe and the Caribbean.

ChlorAid is a 24 hour, 365 days a year response within the UK and Ireland.
